services FAQ
Q: i’m confused/overwhelmed/new to all of this/etc — where should i start?
A: consider these options —
send me an email — briefly (in 3-5 sentences), let me know whatever feels most ‘up’ for you right now. i’ll discern whether i have what you need and may be the best fit for you at this time or not. from there i’ll make a referral, either towards a particular offering in my practice and/or to trusted practitioners in my network if appropriate.
schedule a divination — in these sessions we can explore whatever’s going on for you for navigation, guidance or perspective — there are no bad questions and nothing is off limits. divination can be a great way to establish a shared foundation and language and to strategize a map for moving forward, wherever that ultimately points.
trust your gut — i encourage you to peruse each of the pages in the services section and trust your own knowing, whether towards the session that feels really exciting or the one that feels the most terrifying (but maybe necessary for that) - each of these modalities flow into and inform the other, so if we end up working together longterm we’ll often bring multiple approaches into sessions together in order to get your particular needs met.
Q: why Star Service?
A: the first iteration of Star Service (est. 2017) was strictly a house cleaning business! i thought the name was a funny riff on common service industry tropes, but also found that it resonated with my sincere belief — that each human has the cosmic origin, complexity and relative creative force of a star, and that we are each here on earth in service of the growth and expression of this deeper essence. i kept the name as i expanded into doing astrological readings and have been developing my practices under this umbrella ever since. i still think it’s kind of funny, but it’s also super serious, like many good things, i think, but i also love how robust the container of star service is in allowing for the constant evolution of my teaching and client work.
Q: i’m in spiritual (emotional/psychological/physical/etc) crisis / in present danger / don’t have my basic needs met — can you help?
A: no. with love and respect, i cannot provide support for people in active danger or crisis or for people who do not have their basic needs met.
transformation often requires risk, instability and the willingness to be in discomfort. which requires relative prior stability and adequate personal resources. if your day to day is actively challenging, in terms of food, water, clothing, rent, etc, i encourage you to reach out to trusted professionals in your area to begin building the foundation you need to pursue further healing work.
i am not a therapist or mental health professional. this work is not meant to diagnose or treat medical, psychological or psychiatric issues and should not be considered an alternative to clinical treatment for any mental or physical health conditions. if you or someone you know are in crisis, please reach out to a professional counselor or someone you trust.
